Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how YurUp ("YurUp," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you download, access, or use the YurUp mobile app available through the Apple App Store and Google Play, as well as related YurUp support services.

YurUp is operated in connection with GovCom Solutions.

By using YurUp, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Age requirement: You must be at least 16 years old. We collect date of birth to enforce this requirement.

Information We Collect

Account and Profile Information

We may collect:

  • Email address.
  • Display name.
  • Date of birth.
  • Optional nickname.
  • Firebase Authentication identifiers.
  • Authentication information associated with email/password login, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple.
  • Optional multifactor-authentication information, including an SMS phone number and/or TOTP configuration.
  • Profile preferences.
  • Household membership and household roles.

Household and User-Generated Content

Depending on the features you use, we may collect and process:

  • Household metadata.
  • Chores.
  • Activity logs and streaks.
  • Expenses and expense splits.
  • Chat messages, including current chat threads and legacy chat records.
  • Polls.
  • Order Squads.
  • Chore Court cases, votes, and logs.
  • Penalties.
  • Tidy AI conversations and reports.
  • In-app notifications.
  • Subscription usage and quota information.

Content shared within a household may be visible to other members of that household.

Device Information and Permissions

We may process:

  • Firebase Cloud Messaging push-notification tokens.
  • Notification permission and notification-state information.
  • On-device caches used to operate the app.
  • Camera or photo-library access when you choose to scan or upload receipts.
  • Local birthday milestone information used to generate notifications, which may include a household member's first name.

Receipt images are not uploaded to Firebase Storage in the current version of the app.

Microphone and speech functionality may be reserved for a future Tidy voice feature. This functionality is currently disabled through feature flags.

Subscription Information

Apple and Google process subscription payments through their respective app stores.

RevenueCat provides subscription and entitlement status associated with your Firebase user ID and household.

We do not store complete payment-card numbers.

Support Communications

We collect information you provide when you contact us by email or through Subscription Hub, paywall support, or other support features.

Support communications may include your email address, account information, device information, subscription details, and the content of your request.

Information Not Collected by the Current App

The current production app does not intentionally collect or use:

  • Precise GPS location.
  • Device contacts.
  • Advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking.
  • Government-issued identification numbers.
  • Complete payment-card primary account numbers.
  • Production product-analytics SDKs.
  • Production crash-reporting SDKs.
  • Plaid.
  • Stripe.
  • Giphy at runtime.

This section describes the current production implementation and may be updated if the service changes.

AI Processing: Tidy and Receipt Parsing

Information may be sent to Groq to provide Tidy AI and receipt-parsing functionality.

Depending on the feature used, information sent for AI processing may include:

  • User prompts.
  • Relevant conversation history.
  • Display names.
  • Household names.
  • Household chore context.
  • Expense context.
  • Chore Court context.
  • Receipt images.
  • Receipt text.
  • Merchant details.
  • Limited payment-card last-four digits if they are visible on a receipt.

Passwords, Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens, and dates of birth are not intentionally included in the Tidy household snapshot.

AI-generated output may be incomplete or incorrect. Users should review AI-generated information before relying on or sharing it.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts.
  • Authenticate users.
  • Enforce age requirements.
  • Operate household features.
  • Synchronize data across devices.
  • Deliver notifications.
  • Manage subscriptions and entitlements.
  • Enforce subscription quotas and usage limits.
  • Provide Tidy AI and receipt-parsing features.
  • Respond to support requests.
  • Maintain security.
  • Investigate abuse or technical issues.
  • Comply with applicable legal requirements.
  • Improve the reliability and functionality of the service.

How We Share Information

We may share or process information with the following parties:

Household Members

Information and content associated with a household may be visible to other household members.

Google Firebase

Firebase may be used for authentication, application data, backend services, and push-notification functionality.

Apple and Google

Apple and Google may process information related to authentication, Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, optional MFA SMS services, app distribution, purchases, and subscriptions.

RevenueCat

RevenueCat processes subscription status and entitlement information linked to a Firebase user ID and household.

Groq

Groq may process prompts, household context, receipt information, and other content required to provide Tidy AI and receipt-parsing functionality.

Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law.
  • Respond to valid legal process.
  • Protect the rights, safety, and security of YurUp, GovCom Solutions, users, or others.
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • Enforce applicable agreements.

We do not sell personal information.

Data Retention

We generally retain account, profile, household, and user-generated information while the relevant account or household remains active.

Certain categories may be retained for different periods, including:

  • Chore logs: approximately three months.
  • Household invitations: approximately 30 days.
  • Subscription or usage quotas: reset monthly.
  • Legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, and dispute records: potentially retained for longer periods where reasonably necessary or legally required.

Retention may vary based on technical, legal, operational, security, and backup requirements.

Account Deletion

Users may request account deletion through:

Settings → Delete Account

Users may also contact support.

When an account is deleted:

  • The Firebase Authentication user may be deleted.
  • The user profile may be deleted.
  • If the user is the sole member of a household, the household may be deleted.
  • If other members remain, the user's household membership may be removed.
  • Some content shared with other household members may remain.
  • Some newer chat, Tidy AI, quota, and notification records may remain where technically, operationally, or legally necessary.

Deleting a YurUp account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Store subscriptions must be managed or canceled through the applicable app-store account settings.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

These may include the ability to:

  • Access certain personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion.
  • Update profile information.
  • Control device permissions.
  • Control notification permissions.
  • Leave a household.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Request information about applicable disclosures.

These rights may include rights available under EEA, UK, California, or similar privacy laws where applicable.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including Firebase security features and HTTPS communications.

However, no system, network, storage platform, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for protecting their credentials and promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized account access.

International Data Processing

YurUp and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

These countries may have data-protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.

Where required, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards for international processing.

Children's Privacy

YurUp is not intended for children under 16.

Users must be at least 16 years old to create or use an account.

If we become aware that information was collected from a user under 16 in violation of this policy, we may delete the account and associated information as appropriate.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

The updated version will be posted at:

https://yurup.app/privacy

The "Last updated" date will be revised when material changes are published.

Continued use of YurUp after an updated policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy where permitted by law.
